Olá, flower lover Reader
Over time, I’ve come to notice that inspiration doesn’t arrive all at once. It gathers slowly. Through the things we return to. Through pages left open on a desk. Through words or images that stay with us a little longer than expected.
In one of my last newsletters, I shared about the act of gathering inspiration. And today, I want to take you a little closer to one of the places where mine often begins. Between the pages of books, where flowers carry not just their beauty, but their meanings too.

Gathering Meaning Through Books
Over time, I’ve been building a small library of books dedicated to the language of flowers. They sit beside my journals, often open and revisited. Each one offering meanings, symbolism, and small sparks that find their way into my pages. It’s from these books that many of my spreads begin: a word, a feeling, a flower that asks to be explored.
In my latest video, I’m sharing my favorite floriography books. The ones I reach for the most, the ones that continue to inspire my art journaling practice. If you’ve been curious about flower symbolism, or if you’re looking for new ways to gather inspiration for your own creative work, this might be a beautiful place to start.

Creative Lab by Francisca Nunes
On another note, I want to share that the doors for the Creative Lab by Francisca Nunes are now open again for the cycle of Growth. The Creative Lab is an online studio where artists explore mixed media inspired by nature through projects, techniques, and creative experimentation. Inside the Lab, you’ll find work from different guest artists, including my class "Collage Bouquets", to be out in the next cycle of Radiance. In this class, you’ll learn how to put together a collage bouquet by exploring the colors, textures, and movement of a floral arrangement. You’ll study a bouquet for inspiration, create expressive paper pieces with mixed-media techniques, and assemble everything on a background that enhances the final composition. The result is a vibrant bouquet full of life and flow.
When you join the Creative Lab, you’ll have access to: • projects and classes from invited artists • a growing library of mixed media techniques • premium classes and workshops • Francisca Nunes’ signature course Printed Nature • a creative community where artists share their work Membership is €35 per month (about $38) and includes access to everything inside the Lab. If you’d like to explore my project and the work of the other artists, you can join below. I hope to see you inside the Creative Lab.
