Olá, dear creative Reader
November has been a month of slow creativity and meaningful exploration. In this newsletter, I’m sharing the threads that have shaped my art practice lately. From the flowers I’ve been studying, to the progress in my Fall Floral Journal series, to the gentle preparation for another season of Care December.

This Month’s Creative Threads
This month’s newsletters revolved around seasonal flowers, creative technique, and the quiet stories that bloom inside our journals. Here’s a quick look at everything we explored together in November:
|
|
November Flower Guide I introduced the four November flowers—camellia, anemone, aster, and pansy—and shared their floriography meanings along with simple prompts to bring each one into your creative practice. |
|
|
Background Ideas for Floral Pages I broke down my go-to three-step background formula—paper scrap collage, paint layers, and expressive mark making—and showed how this approach can create rich, textured bases for floral journaling |
|
|
Bouquets That Speak I explored how bouquets can convey symbolic stories, shared the inspirations behind my own collage process, and provided simple examples to help you explore meaningful bouquets in your own journal pages. |

How the Fall Floral Journal Is Unfolding
My Fall Floral Journal series has been unfolding beautifully, and I’ve already shared three videos to guide you through its creation. The first shows how I decorated the cover, the second walks you through adding concertina signatures, and the third explores three different variations of my mixed-media background formula.
I’ve also begun creating floral pages inspired by the flowers featured in my monthly flower guides, allowing their meanings to shape the colors, textures, and moods inside the journal.
As the series continues, I’d love to know what you would like to see next. Do you prefer technique-based videos, like adding pockets, tip-ins, and interactive elements, or process-focused videos where I create floral pages from start to finish? Or maybe a mix of both?

Preparing for Another Care December
This year marks my fourth time participating in Care December, the beautiful, free offering from Everything-Art UK. It’s a project that holds a special place in my heart—partly because I made my very first handmade journal for the 2022 edition, following Kasia Avery’s guidance, and partly because of the gentle, grounding spirit it carries.
What I love most about Care December is that it isn’t a challenge. There’s no pressure to keep up, complete prompts, or produce anything specific. Instead, it feels like a mindful invitation—a soft encouragement to slow down, breathe, and carve out small pockets of creative stillness during one of the busiest months of the year.
I’m also endlessly charmed by its color-themed approach. This year’s color is green, which happens to be my second favorite color, and I’m already buzzing with ideas for how it will unfold in my pages. I’m eager to see where this year’s Care December takes my art practice.
I also took the opportunity to look back at all my Care December journals from the past three years and shared a full tour of them on my channel. An invitation to revisit the evolution of my practice and the quiet magic this project brings each year.

This past month, my art practice has been a quiet dialogue between flowers, pages, and the turning season. I’m grateful to share these explorations with you and hope you’ll continue to bloom alongside me.
With love and golden light,
